The goal of this research project is the modelling of the evolution of aggregates over time. Some examples for aggregates are mean consumption expenditure of a population of households on acommodity group (for example, food, clothing, non-durable consumption goods) or savings. Therefore, the aim is to find observable explanatory variables which "explain" the observable changes of the aggregates over time. This explanation framework should be theoretically compatible and not in contrast to the general microeconomic theory. Additionally, it should fit available historical data, and finally be a base for prediction models.
This project is financed by the German Science Association (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)). It is a joint project with Prof. Alois Kneip of the University of Mainz, Germany.
