Christian Bayer is a Professor of Economics at the Institute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics, University of Bonn. He is a member of the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute, the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics (HCM), and the Center for Advanced Studies "Finance and Inequality" (CASFI). He is a CEPR Research Fellow and an IZA Research Fellow. His research focuses on Macroeconomics, Inequality, Business Cycles, and Monetary Policy. He is actively involved in policy advising, serving as Vice-Spokesperson of the Board of Academic Advisors at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and was a member of the German Gas Crisis Commission.
