Abstract: In this paper I shall develop a theory of market demand. The principle aim of this theory of market demand
is to establish the Law of Demand. I shall defend here the thesis that the Law of
Demand is mainly due to the
heterogeneity of the population of households; rationality of individual
household's behavior plays a minor role.
