Title: Demand-Supply Systems, Variational Inequalities, and
(Generalized) Monotone Functions
Abstract: We provide some characterizations of (strictly)
pseudomonotone and (strictly) monotone functions by properties
of the solutions to the associated variational inequality
problems. They are economically motivated by the desire to
formalize the idea of a structurally well-behaved
multi-commodity demand-supply system.
