Title: Increasing Life Expectancy and Pay-As-You-Go Pension Systems
Abstract: We model a proportional adjustment of the labor life-span to the lifetime and show that the impact of an increasing lifetime on the PAYG pension scheme depends on the sign of the birthrate. Moreover, PAYG pension systems are not maintainable if the birthrate is negative.
