Title: A Note on Corruptible Hierarchy - Where do we Need the Honest Ones?
Abstract: We consider a two-tier hierarchical structure which monitors criminal activity involving monetary transactions. Distribution of honest agents across the hierarchical layers becomes important in deterring crime. Depending on the institutional set up, location of honest agents across the hierarchy assumes critical importance. Sometimes ´honest-bottom´ is more effective in controlling crime than ´honest-top´ and vice versa.
